At that time, it was possible to visit the bathroom and collect a cool drink from the fridge during a television commercial. Due to the short length of the commercial, you were not able to complete both.
The first TV commercial was shown on 7/1/1941. That was 20 seconds late for Bulova Watch Company. It aired prior to a baseball game between Brooklyn and Philadelphia. This advertisement only cost Bulova $9! This occurred in New York. WNBT showed this ad and it had a photo of Bulova looking over a map placed on the US. Aslo, the phrase "America runs on Bulova time" was played over top.
It was quick enough for the commerce world to understand the importance of advertisements. Advertising industries have spent billions of not only to create catchy ads, but to make viewers remain at the TV during commercial breaks.
When watch television became a normal thing in most homes, during the 1960s, most people owned only one and a program that was an hour long had 51 minutes of programming and only 9 minutes devoted to commercials. Currently, that same hour long TV slot will only have forty-two minutes of programming, yet a full eighteen minutes of commercials. These are just as poor a choice for the 30 minute time-slots, which only allow twenty-two minutes of programs and eight minutes of advertisements.
In their simplest form, television commercials merely have a spokesperson presenting product images; more complicated forms can involve stunt actors and wild special effects. All have their own opinion of deciding how to make maximum and best use of ads airtime. In our current day, they recommend commercials that are only 15 seconds long be aired four times during one commercial break, instead of a longer one-minute commercial being aired once.
People often take for granted what technology brings them. They assume everyone already knows everything they need to know. Well, they all had to learn And in here you'll find all you need to know about MP3 and what is an mP3 player.
